World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item allows players to increase the gear score of an item up to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you bring them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For example the perfect rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth it.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. They also have an unchanging bonus that increases their damage per second. In addition there are many weapons with a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a unit. This bonus could exceed the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can cause.
A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For instance an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade the weapon will continue to rise until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.
Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. While this is generally beneficial however, it could have negative effects as well. For items that only see use in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs for instance), upgrading them may render them useless unless you happen to have an extremely lucky roll.
Armor items can be upgraded to boost their stats. This will increase the defense base of a chest or helm as well as belts and gloves. These can boost their strength and agility. Armor also offers a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it could change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats that it will get when upgraded, along with their respective values. item upgrading means that a change from a sword with 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in the weapon gaining 33% attack damage. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will strike 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button on the item menu, using the arrows that are circling. This will roll the item and alter its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level nor tie it to the account status.
Armor
A few tweaks to your armor can make a huge differences in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets can offer massive improvements in the resistance to curses, poison and fire as well as magic. This makes it easier to get through difficult terrains. In general, the greater defense your character is, the more value you will get out of each point of health you possess, so it's important to upgrade your armor as often as you can.
To upgrade your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four in total each of which requires you to complete a specific side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed your main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor is different. You'll need anywhere between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for example, can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which will allow you to stay ahead in frigid conditions with a large group of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded to +20 defense, which means you're able to survive a battle with your friends.
It isn't possible to upgrade armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical power or spell power. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades for the armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you use to fight the final boss, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town and you will be able to unlock perks for your armor. In general, you should save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be useful to have a few improvements to the helmets and chest armor that allow you to stealth around certain monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquid substances that, when consumed give the player the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five types of potions with different effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, increasing the effectiveness of their effects. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding glowstone dust and redstone.

To upgrade a potion, right-click it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.

There were some changes to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. For instance the splash potions now have the duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item). The table for potion is constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players playing Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be combined in cauldrons. Similarly, using a potion on a full cauldron, it drains the contents and refills the bottle.
In addition, there are lingering potions that are brewed using dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can also be added to lingering potions to enhance their effects. The table of potions has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, such as the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets

In general players should upgrade their most important items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are upgraded first, followed by their secondary gear and finally other pieces of equipment that will not replace in the near future (such as an earring or a cloak). When deciding on which items to upgrade players should also take into account the preferred statistics of their class. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to tank players, then they should upgrade their helm, chest and shoulders.
When they are no longer useful trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1percent bonus. Re-upgrading will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it is saved using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still cheaper than buying a new one.
