Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The statistics of an item are improved through upgrading it, also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment increases the stat linearly.
Players can recycle six items at one time to gain a gauge for the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling items increases with their rarity and item level.
Upgrade components
An upgrade for an item in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the stats of your weapon and armor. This can be done through many different methods, including using upgrade components as well as upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. Additionally, many items can be reforged, which could increase their stats.
There are items that can be upgraded throughout the game. They are available throughout all over the world and are rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. Upgrade components are the most common way to upgrade equipment. These are items that can slot into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots to upgrade, and many require a certain level of upgrade. Some upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while others offer a general bonus.
There are many types of upgrade components available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. The universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments, can be put on any type of equipment, and offer less than upgrades for specific equipment. Glyphs can be placed in gathering tools and provide various bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to supplying additional crafting materials.
To upgrade an item, simply select it in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The window will show a preview on the right side of the screen showing the expected stats after the upgrade, as well as any materials or components required. The Upgrade button at the bottom will show Blocked if you do not have enough of or.
The number of upgrade components needed for a specific item can be seen in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The cost of upgrading increases with the level and rarity of the item increases. However you can cut down on this cost by purchasing upgrades from a vendor, or trading them with other players.
Most weapons can be upgraded using an upgrade to a prefix for example, an insignia or rune, and many can be upgraded with an upgrade suffix. These upgrades change the name of the item, adding an adjective, like "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor.' The exceptions are the non-inscribable wands, the foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any kinds of mods.
Glyphs

Glyphs are an effective tool for communicating visual information. They animate in order to draw the attention of the viewer and entice curiosity. The animation of glyphs resembles body language, making them even more effective in communicating a message across linguistic barriers. item upgrades can also increase the likelihood of remembering the message by triggering an emotional connection in the brain.
Each glyph comes with a range of values that it can improve a stat by, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use it to enchant an Artifact. This is not the exact amount at which glyphs can improve a stat, but the maximum value by which it can do so. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and the quality of the product you are creating it for.
The majority of upgrade components installed into items cannot be removed or replaced without removing them except for legendary upgrades and equipment. However, if you have an unusable rune or glyph that hasn't yet been applied to your equipment, you can transfer it to another piece of gear by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create an Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.
If you want to remove a glyph from an item then you'll need to salvage it using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item on which the glyph is placed will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be recovered using the glyph shards.
Adding a glyph to an item may cause it to become unstable, and the shards that are left of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you take it down. You can also place a glyph on your equipment to increase its value. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and then be dealt slowly to the wearer rather than all at one time. This is helpful for players who are taking lots of damage from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to alter the affixes of weapons and other equipment. They can be obtained from various sources, including mysterious boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player an affix randomly chosen and generally better than the one they had before. Reroll tokens can also be a good option to reroll stats on weapons, which can be upgraded for better damage or other perks.
Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the upgrade menu, however they are still eligible to receive upgrades. These rerolled items are able to be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button, which changes the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to be chosen to recycle. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. This amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its level, therefore higher-level items are more useful to recycle than lower-level ones.
Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling Weapon Traits to upgrade units. Rerolls are based on a % chance of a weapon's traits. If it rolls higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower the weapon remains as is. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.
A reroll is a good option for upgrading an item, however, players must be aware that it could reduce the overall ilvl the weapon based on the number of rerolls used to raise the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This is evident on Diadems and Rings, since they have no other options for raising ilvl.
The system of rerolls has been criticised by players for being too expensive and it's more equitable to let players pay for it with money or a food item which would allow players to alter their builds without wasting time and effort. However, paid rerolls are not something the developers want to incorporate at this point in the game's development. Instead, they plan to include a race change potion in the future.
Leveling
There are a variety of ways to upgrade an item. The first way to level up an item upgrade is by increasing the amount of upgrade. This boosts the value of an upgrade for the stat. The second is to boost the effect of an upgrade which increases the damage or heal of a given stat. Additionally, there is the ability to upgrade the base item to a higher upgrade type. Once this is done, the new item will maintain its iLevel however it will be upgraded with the effects of the upgraded item type.
It is crucial to keep in mind that upgrades are not guaranteed. In most cases a better roll is determined by glyphs. However there are occasions where a higher or more special roll can occur. Additionally, the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the type of item which means that when you upgrade a rare or unique item to a unique type, it has a chance to get an iLevel that is higher.
Upgrading items can be costly especially when you're upgrading an item of equipment from a standard to legendary track. The price will be based on the item's base iLevel and the amount of upgrade levels it offers. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests to reach the next upgrade level.
If you're lucky, your upgraded item will be at the highest level on its upgrade track and unlock a bonus effect. This will provide a significant boost in the upgrade value of the item. The bonus effect will change with each upgrade level. In general, the upgrade effect is increased a value of +3.
Based on the item's level of base and upgrade route, the iLevel of the upgraded item will also change. For instance an item that has been upgraded from being a rare or unique item to an outstanding one is likely to gain the Enhanced Defence of the new base item.
